Gawai Dayak

During Gawai Dayak festival, traditional cakes and delicacies are never amiss. These sweet treats are generally made from glutinous rice flour mixed with palm sugar or cane sugar. Amongst them are the “sarang semut” (ant nest cake), “penganan iri” ( a discus-shaped cake), “cuwan” (moulded cake) and “kuih sepit” (pressed cake).
