Hari Polis or Police Day is observed on March 25 in Malaysia every year. Hari Polis is celebrated to commemorate the police force, including all personnel engaged in national security for their contributions and sacrifices. The police play an important role in safeguarding the country and combating crime to ensure the country’s security.
The Royal Malaysia Police (Polis Diraja Malaysia) is the federal police force in Malaysia. It is a centralised organisation, headquartered at Bukit Aman, Kuala Lumpur. The police force is under the command of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP). The constitution, duties and powers, employment, recruitment, funding, discipline and control of the police force are governed by the Police Act 1967.
