Buddhist Lent Day (Vassa)

The Buddhist Lent is called Wan Khao Phansa in Thailand. It is observed for a period of three lunar months during the rainy season. During this time, monks and novices are required to remain in one particular place or temple. Devotees will give alms on the streets and temples. The elders also go to the temples to listen to Dhamma and join in the chanting.
