World Wetlands Day

The 2018 theme ‘Wetlands for a sustainable urban future’ sheds light on the importance of wetlands in the urban areas. Wetlands play a crucial role for cities and the people there. Wetlands serve as a source of drinking water, reduce flooding and the vegetation of the wetlands filters domestic and urban wastes, thus improve the water quality.
