Graduation

Academic dress is commonly seen only at graduation ceremonies though they were worn daily by scholars of ancient universities. Today, the ensemble of the academic dress consists of a gown or robe with separate hood and a mortar board. A scroll is presented to the graduate by the Chancellor during the Commencement ceremony.
