Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a special holiday for many reasons – giving thanks, the food and family. There are many interesting facts behind Thanksgiving. For starters, did you know that a turkey has about seventy percent of white meat and thirty percent of dark meat? Back in 1705, Thanksgiving was delayed for one week in Connecticut when a shortage of molasses curtailed the baking of the beloved pumpkin pies. And the best part of Thanksgiving is the leftovers. People actually prefer turkey sandwiches slathered in mayo, piled high with green olives and served with an ice-cold glass of milk, followed by a piece of pumpkin pie over the original meal.
