All Saints' Day

Teresa Benedicta a Cruce was named Edith Stein when she was born on October 12, 1891. She was a German Jewish philosopher who converted to Roman Catholicism and became a Discalced Carmelites nun. She died at the age of 50 on August 9,1942. On October 11, 1998, she was cannonised as a saint of the Catholic Church by Pope John Paul II.
