All Saints' Day

Josephine Margaret Bakhita was born around 1869 in Darfur region of Sudan. In February 1877, she was kidnapped by Arab slave traders. She was bought and sold many times over the 12 years. She came to know about God when she was with the Cannossian Sisters in Venice. She died in February 1947 and was cannonised on October 1, 2000 by Pope John Paul II.
