Grandparents’ Day
Grandparents' Day is a secular holiday celebrated in the United States and United Kingdom since 1978. This holiday is also officially recognised in some countries on various days of the year. In the United States, Marian McQuade of Oak Hill, West Virginia was recognised as the founder of National Grandparents’ Day by two senators and President Jimmy Carter. In 1973, a resolution to make Grandparents’ Day a national holiday was introduced to the senate. In February 1977, a resolution was introduced to the senate to designate the first Sunday of September after Labour Day as National Grandparents’ Day. Today, Grandparents’ Day is celebrated around the world and FaveKad would like to wish all grandparents a Blessed Grandparents’ Day on this happy occasion.
