Eid al-Fitr

Eid al-Fitr, commonly known as Eid, is a significant Islamic festival celebrated worldwide, marking the conclusion of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting. This joyous occasion falls on the first day of Shawal, the tenth month in the Islamic lunar calendar, immediately following Ramadan. It holds profound religious and cultural importance for Muslims. Eid festivities commence with a special prayer at the mosque, often performed in large congregations. Muslims don their finest attire and express gratitude to Allah for their strength and self-discipline throughout Ramadan. A core aspect of Eid is giving to those in need through "Zakat al-Fitr" or "Sadaqat al-Fitr," a form of charity that ensures all Muslims, including the less fortunate, can partake in the celebrations. Families and friends come together to exchange gifts, share meals, and foster unity and community spirit.
