Nine Emperor Gods' Festival

In Taoism, it is believed that burning incense is the most common way of worshiping. Devotees will bow down on their knees several times or kneel down and kowtow and pray silently at the same time. During the Nine Emperor Gods' Festival, some of the more pious devotees would crawl on all fours in front of the altar as part of their vows to the gods.
