Nirvana Day

Nirvana Day or Parinirvana Day is observed by the Mahayana Buddhists. Nirvana Day commemorates the passing of Buddha and his entry into final or complete Nirvana. Nirvana Day is a solemn day. It is a time for contemplation of the Buddha’s teachings, a day for meditation or reading of the Parinibanna Sutta and a day to reflect on death and impermanence.
