Renri

According to Chinese legend, everyone’s birthday falls on Renri, which is the 7th day of the 1st month in the lunar calendar. This is the day when everyone grows older by one year. Most Chinese become vegetarian on Renri. In south China, people prepare a special soup with 7 vegetables as a lucky food. In southwest China, they go hiking and compose poems.
