Warriors’ Day

A warrior is normally a person who has experience and skill in fighting or warfare, particularly in the past. A warrior is a person who engaged in some sort of struggle or conflict for the benefit of his nation. In Malaysia, the Warriors’ Day is also known as Hari Pahlawan. Warriors’ Day commemorates the servicemen who were killed during WW1, WW2 and the Malayan Emergency. Warriors’ Day is observed on July 31 every year to mark the end of the 12-year Malayan Emergency (1948 – 1960). In general, Warriors’ Day honours all individuals who lost their lives in the line of duty throughout Malaysia’s history.
