Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is also called Saint Valentine’s Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, celebrated on February 14. Valentine’s Day originated as a Western Christian ceremonial feast day honouring one or more early saints named Valentinus. Valentine’s Day is recognised as a significant cultural and commercial celebration in many regions around the world. Valentine’s Day first became associated with romantic life within the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer, the Father of English literature and the greatest English poet in the 14th century when the traditions of courtly love flourished. In the 18th century England, Valentines’ Day evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, cards, etc. Today, this tradition has spread to most of the countries in the world.
