First Malaysian and First non-Briton to be honoured the McCormark Medal

To be conferred the McCormack Medal is not an easy feat. The Intercollegiate Speciality Examination in Cardiothoracic Surgery Board confers this medal to candidates who achieve the highest mark in the Examination at the first attempt. Penang-boy, Dr Basheer Ahamed bin Abdul Kareem, who is the Head of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Penang Hospital is not only the first Malaysian to be conferred the McCormack medal. He is also the first non-Briton to receive this honour, thus breaking the tradition of only Britons earning the prestigious McCormack medal. FaveKad congratulates Dr Basheer for his remarkable achievement. You rock, Dr Basheer!
