Assumption of Mary

According to the New Testament, Mary was the 1st century BC Galilean Jewish woman of Nazareth and the mother of Jesus. According to the gospels of Matthew and Luke, Mary was a virgin who conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit, when she was already betrothed to Joseph. The doctrines of Assumption of Mary relate to her death and bodily assumption to Heaven.
