Epiphany (Three Kings Day)
Epiphany is one of the oldest Christian feasts that has been celebrated since the end of the second century, even before the Christmas holiday was established. Epiphany is also known as the 12th day of Christmas and it celebrates the Nativity story of the three Wise Men or the Three Kings who visited and brought gifts to Jesus in Bethlehem. Epiphany also marks Jesus’ baptism by John the Baptist. The world Epiphany comes from the Greek word which means ‘manifestation’ and as such, it also celebrates the manifestation of Jesus’ divinity to the world.
